has become one of the modern icons of the famous track. It carries passengers that pay €225 to take a lap around the track at tremendous speed, but on Sunday, October 28, the passengers got more than they expected when the Ring Taxi crashed at the Hohe Acht corner. There were no injuries
The crash was bad enough to deploy the side airbags and destroy the driver's side rear of the car.
Video of from the crash scene shows a moist track and leaves on the road.
"We can confirm that one of our Ring Taxis was involved in an accident. "Luckily, neither the driver Harald Grohs nor any of the passengers were injured. We are currently investigating the circumstances," said Benjamin Titz, a BMW spokesperson.
The Ring Taxi is driven by a rotating group of BMW driving instructors from the BMW Driving Experience. The car is a standard M5BMW M5Germany, 2012 > 200028 photos

It is not the first time that the Ring Taxi has had an incident. In August of 2012, the rear end touched the wall to cause some damage, but it was able to complete the lap. In October 2011, it came around the corner to find a slower moving car and hit it.
