GTA Motors launched the Spano supercar at the Geneva Motor Show last year, but the Spanish supercar maker brought the car back this year to announce a production version. The low-slung supercar is built from carbon fiber, titanium and Kevlar. It uses an 8.3 liter, supercharged V10 pumping out 820hp and 960Nm of torque that accelerates to 100km/h in 2.9 seconds with a 350km/h top speed. It will make just 99 Spanos.
The Spano's design is meant to be functional. The doors fit inside an air intake that feeds the oil coolers and brakes, which you can see in the car's front three quarters view. The doors open electrically when the driver presses the GTA logo on the door frame, and the mirrors are perched on carbon fiber arms and made of aluminum. The rear incorporates a functional diffuser and built-in spoiler. The wheels are exclusive to the Spano and are 19in in front and 20in in the rear. Even full of fluids, it weighs 1,350kg.
Inside the top part of the windshield is impregnated with liquid crystals that allows the driver to darken the interior to keep out the sun. The interior is decorated in leather and carbon fiber, and the instruments are on an LCD screen. There is no rearview screen, but there is a rear camera that is displayed on a LCD mounted on the center stack. Due to the car's mid-engine design, it has 100l of storage in front and 200l in the rear.
The car uses a seven-speed transmission with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters, and there is a system to let drivers dial back the power to 444hp. Brakes 380mm carbon ceramic units from AP Racing.
GTA Motors promises that the first cars have already been ordered and will be delivered at the end of the year. It has received orders from China, the UAE, USA, Russia, Germany, Italy and New Zealand.
