The Civic Coupe and Si Coupe are the focus for exterior upgrades this year. They get a new grill design, larger fenders, a new hood and redesigned headlights. At the rear they have new taillights and a redesigned rear bumper. The side mirrors have also been changed, and there are new wheel designs.
All models, coupe and sedan, get interior styling upgrades with new seat fabrics, new door panel trim and a recolored audio panel. All cars get a 7in touchscreen infotainment system with optional navigation. Push button start and blind spot monitoring are also standard, and the rearview mirror is larger. Auto on/off headlights and an 8-way power adjustable driver’s seat are new options.
In terms of performance, the Civic Coupe gets higher rear spring rates and a stiffer rear stabilizer bar. It also has a revised exhaust that boosts power to 143hp, 3hp, and 129lb-ft of torque, 1lb-ft. The Civic EX and EX-L Coupes both get steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters. All models, except for the Civic Natural Gas, gets a CVT transmission to replace the five-speed automatic. The Civic Hybrid already came with the transmission. It gives all of the cars 30mpg city, a 2mpg boost, and 33mpg highway, a 1mpg boost.
The Civic SI gets its own changes with a new front bumper design, decklid spoiler and rear diffuser. It comes standard with 18in wheels. Power is up to 205hp, up 4hp, and 174lb-ft of torque, up 4lb-ft, thanks to a new exhaust system.
The 2014 Civic Sedan and Coupe go on sale on December 4, 2013 in the US, the 2014 Civic Hybrid and Civic Natural Gas will follow in early 2014 and the Civic Si Coupe and Si Sedan will go on sale in the spring.
