roadster by a new, more powerful SL400Mercedes-Benz SL 400Germany, 2014 > present version, included in a series of small changes that will take place in the SL line-up. The German brand is trying to rise sales of the two-year old model.
The new SL400 is equipped with Mercedes-Benz’s twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 direct injection petrol engine, which was launched with the new E400 in 2013. With 333hp and 480Nm of torque, it delivers 23hp and 110Nm more than the naturally aspirated 3.5-litre V6 direct-injection petrol unit that powers the SL350.
Although some o Mercedes' new models are already receiving the new nine-speed automatic gearbox, the new SL400 is matted with the seven-speed automatic. According to the German brand the new SL400 is capable of reaching 100km/h in 5.2s, 0.7s faster than the SL350, and an electronically limited top speed of 250km/h.
Although its power was raised compared to the SL350, the new SL400 is more efficient with an average consumption of 7.3l/km and average CO2 emissions of 172g/km, allowing the new SL version to be EU6 compliant.
