will be offered as a single body style with two wheelbase lengths when it goes on sale. The longer wheelbase version will be aimed primarily at China. 

"We're still in discussion on what we'll do with the next XJ, but the plan as it stands is one body style in two wheelbases.

"I can't see us doing two body styles. The cost would be enormous and the message inconsistent. You have to believe in what you produce and to do two body styles would undermine that," said Jaguar Design Director Ian Callum.

There had been earlier rumors that Jaguar might produce a second body style for the XJ that would have more classic styling to appeal to the more conservative Chinese buyers. 

The latest generation of Jaguars has made a conscious break from the retro-inspired styling of the cars from the 2000s. The XFJaguar XF Gen.1United Kingdom, 2007 > 201570 versions
