and 1.7 CDTI diesel.

The 1.4l turbo produces 120hp with a new, friction-optimized six-speed automatic transmission. It accelerates to 100km/h in 11.9 seconds and uses 7.2l/100km in the combined cycle and produces 169g/km of CO2. In comparison the manual equipped version uses 6.4l/100km.The 1.7 CDTI diesel with 110hp is also available with the new transmission. It takes 12.9 seconds to get to 100km/h and uses 6.1l/100km in the combined cycle and produces 160g/km of CO2. The manual version uses 5.3l/100km in the combined cycle.

These two cars are the first Opel vehicles to get this new transmission. It has shorter shift times, less noise and less vibration than the automatic it replaces. Opel also made the torque converter smaller to reduce inertia and increase efficiency.

The price for the 1.4 turbo with the automatic is €19,610, and the 1.7l diesel costs €20,190. These are German prices including 19% VAT.
