BMW was already announcing the possibility of creating even more radical versions of their M models. This promise seems ever closer since the German brand unveiled at Pebble Beach the
Concept M4 GTS. This even more powerful version based on the M4 should hit the market in 2016 as a limited edition.
Equipped with a 3.0 biturbo six-cylinder in-line engine, the M4 GTS includes BMW's innovative water-injection system. Other modifications include carbon-fiber reinforced plastic hood, OLED rear lights, aerodynamic details, including an adjustable front splitter and a rear wing mounted on the trunk, and an improved chassis.
According to Frank van Meel, BMW M President, while the M4 combines motorsports features with daily usability, the M4 GTS is clearly designed with a focus on the track, although it can also be driven on the road.
Although it has not been officially revealed, the output of the M4 GTS should be around 460hp, 35hp more than the current version of the
M4.
