goes on sale in January.
The V60 Sportswagon will be offered in the US with three engines at launch. They are a front-wheel drive 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder from the new Drive-E engine family with 240hp and 258lb-ft of torque, an all-wheel drive 2.5-liter turbocharged five-cylinder with 250hp and 266lb-ft, and an all-wheel drive 3.0-liter turbocharged inline six with 325hp and 354lb-ft of torque.
“The V60 signifies our first step in a gradual move toward powerful, highly efficient, four-cylinder engines across the entire portfolio of our vehicles," said Volvo Cars of North America President and CEO John Maloney.
The 325hp version will be sold as the V60 R-Design. It will be the most powerful wagon that Volvo has ever sold in the US.
The new Drive-E engine family is Volvo's next generation engine family, and when it launches, the V60 Sportswagon will be the only Volvo in the US that it is available in. It claims that it offers lower emissions and better fuel economy by 13%-26% when compared to the previous generation of engines.
Pricing and specifications of the models will be announced closer to launch.
