The ŠKODA Felicia (Type 791) was the first all-new model that was developed after the link-up between ŠKODA and the Volkswagen Group. It was premiered on Charles Bridge in Prague October 1994. Three cars in the colours of the tricolour were christened with water from the Vltava by the mayor of Prague.

The car whose name refers to the ŠKODA Felicia Type 994 that was produced at the start of the 1960s, went into mass production in 1994. The ŠKODA Felicia brought not only changes that were visible at first glance, such as modern, rounded shapes and interior, but the car made the qualitative shift generally evident.

Skoda

The origin of Skoda Auto goes back to 1895. Václav Laurin, a mechanic, and Václav Klement, book-seller, both shared a passion for bicycles. When Klement tried to get spare parts to fix is bicycle and wrote to the manufacturer in Czech, he got an unfawl reply asking him to write in a language they could understand. In that moment, the two Czechs founded Laurin & Klement and started to produce bicycles under the patriotic name: Slavia.
