Portugal's First Electric Sports Car presented on Friday

Desportivo elétrico ‘made in Portugal’ apresentado sexta-feira

On Friday the first electric sports car produced in Portugal will be launched. The Veeco RT is a fully electric reverse three wheeler, with a range up to 400 km and is the result of a partnership between the VE - Fabricação de Veículos de Tracção Eléctrica, Lda. and the Instituto Superior de Engenharia de Lisboa (ISEL).

Labeled by European program EUREKA  and co-funded by national strategic programme QREN, the project from Veeco is presenting a vehicle which is defined as different and innovative, starting with the
drop-shaped sporty and attractive design. In addition and in order to differentiate it from the market, with the RT Veeco has betted on a three-wheeled vehicle (reverse trike), pure electric with high aerodynamic and energy efficiency .

The Veeco RT is equipped with an induction engine which is powered by a lithium-ion battery. Depending on the capacity of the battery bank, the range of the RT can go from 200 to 400 km. The RT will be able to reach a top speed of 160km/h and to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 8 seconds.

Veeco wanted to invest in green technologies so thanks to the electric engine powering the RT, it produces zero CO2 emissions. The predictions of the consortium pointed out that € 1 will allow you to run 100 km on board the Veeco RT.

The official presentation of the RT Veeco will take place next Friday, February 3rd at 16h00, local time, at the Arena Lounge of the Casino de Lisboa.

I found some pics on the Internet. It does not look so bad, but let's see the price, and how it rates against the Corbin Sparrow.
