Opel Bringing Three Cars and a Concept to Frankfurt

Opel will be making a big showing at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month. General Motor's European division will be bringing three new road cars and what it calls "an experimental vehicle exploring a new interpretation of mobility."

Opel did not give any specifics about the concept car, but it will debut on September 13 at 9:45 a.m. local time at the motor show. We will know more then.

The Astra GTC will come with a range of diesel and petrol engines rated at between 120hp and 180hp, and Opel's HiPerStrut front suspension.

The Zafira Tourer is a seven-passenger station wagon that Opel calls a "lounge on wheels."

The new Combo can be configured as a passenger van or work vehicle with six available engines.

The Frankfurt Motor Show will also mark the debut of the Opel Ampera, Opel's electric vehicle that will be on sale in Europe at the end of this year. The Ampera is Opel's version of the Chevrolet Volt that is already for sale in the US.

Nice. This might be a little sample of what GM is planning to do in Europe. Good for them, especially for Opel.
