has decided to abandon the Paris Motor Show in order to save money. Proton, its parent company, was recently privatized and sold to investment group DRB-HICOM. Lotus's CEO Dany Bahar was fired from the company for allegedly using Lotus money to pay for his personal expenses.

“Our parent company DRB-HICOM has invested new funds and it is my job to make sure that investment is used in a way that can drive the company forward. We are working on a number of new developments which require funding and that must be the priority,” said a source from Lotus to Auto Car.

Lotus has been in the middle of restructuring the company to add models and make more money.

The Paris Motor Show begins on September 29.
