The CC100 Speedster Concept debuted during the parade lap of the 2013 Nürburgring 24 Hours on Sunday, May 19. The car is meant to evoke the spirit and style of the Aston Martin DBR1 that won the Nürburgring 1000km in 1959.
The style is a modernized take on the DBR1. It includes a modern elliptical Aston Martin nose and headlights with many of the lines from the DBR1. The body is made entirelt from carbon fiber. It is 4.5m long and 2m wide.
Aston Martin Design Director Marek Reichman and Chief Exterior Designer Miles Nurnberger created the two cars in less than six months at its headquarters in Gaydon, England.
Power comes from a 6.0-liter V12 from the Vanquish with 565hp and 457lb-ft of torque with a six-speed automated manual transmission. Aston Martin estimates that it takes a bit over four seconds to reach 100km/h, and it has a 180mph top speed.
