Aston Martin has taken the top off its new Vanquish to create its first Volante model ever with a fully carbon fiber body. Power for the Vanquish Volante comes from the same 6.0-liter V12 as the Vanquish coupe with 565hp and 457lb-ft of torque, and Aston Martin estimates that takes the convertible 4.1 seconds to reach 100km/h. The top speed is 183mph.
Aston’s Touchtronic 2 six-speed automatic is the only transmission available.
The styling is mostly identical to the coupe. It has the side strakes and rear LED lights from the limited One-77 supercar.
While all of the body panels are carbon fiber, the platform is aluminum with carbon fiber components
The roof is made of several layers of fabric and folds in 14 seconds. It sits under a power tonneau cover at the rear. For the first time in an Aston Martin Volante, the glass in the windshield runs up to the roof, which improves visibility and looks better.
