Auto Nacional, S.A. was founded in 1953, in Spain, by José María Marcet Coll. The spanish entrepeneur saw the Biscooter model created by Voissin and realized that the microcar could be very successful in Spain. He bought the patent and changed the name of the car to "biscúter". The small vehicle was launched in Spain and the success was followed by different bodytypes. Overall, 10.000 vehicles were produced.
