Overview

Brabus is a high-performance aftermarket tuning company. Founded in 1977 by Klaus Brackmann and Bodo Buschmann, the firm has its headquaters in Bottrop, Germany.

The company is currently leading in tuning of Mercedes-Benz cars. Other brands Brabus work with are Smart and Maybach.

Maximum engine performance is the main aim and speciality of the Brabus tuners, which is achived through increasing horsepower and torque. The basis for the tuners are usually AMG engines. Modifications are not limited to the engines though, changes on interior and exterior are also offered to the Brabus customer.

Generally, clients of the German company have the choice between buying an entirely new car from Brabus, which the company previously purchased from the manufacturer and then modified in-house. Or, a client can request modifications on his own car that he has previously purchased himself.
