Introduced in the market in 2008, the Caterham 7 Superlight R 500 is the 1st generation of the sports car model. With an output of 267 hp at 8500 rpm and a maximum torque of 240 nm, this version drives on a 1999cc straight 4 engine combined with a 6-speed manual transmission. The powertrain of this roadster has been mated with a 6-speed gearbox. Being able to reach a maximum speed of 241 km/h, it sprints from 0 to 100km/h in 2.95 seconds. The sports car-version is the fastest version of this series. It has the highest top speed in the line-up. This car is a 2-door roadster version of the 7, which seats up to 2 passengers.

The 7 (or Seven) is Caterham’s most popular model. The lightweight sports car, based on Lotus 7, was launched in 1973. Caterham 7 is sold in kits or already fully assembled. The two-seater is very popular in the United Kingdom for The Lotus/Caterham 7 commemorated its 50th anniversary in 2007. This model was banned from racing in the 1960s in the USA and in the 1970s in UK to be “too fast to race”. Both bans have been lifted, but Caterham adapted the line as a slogan of the car.   more
