Fiat Idea (Italy, 2003-2011)

In 2003, Fiat launched the Mini-MPV Idea. The model went on sale in the major European countries between autumn 2003 and the beginning of 2004.

IDEA is an acronym, standing for: Intelligent; Design; Emotive; Architecture.

The engine range available at the launch included a petrol-driven 1.4 16 valve unit and a 1.3 16v Multijet, both combined with a manual or robotised 'Dualogic' gearbox. Over the ensuing months, these were followed by a 1.9 JTD Multijet and 1.2 16v (the latter was not sold in Italy).

The new car featured a sunroof (skydome), dual zone climate control system, Cruise Control, Dualdrive electric power steering and the follow-me-home function.
