Presented at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show on the King Saud university stand the Gazal-1is a styling model which became the first "project" of KSU automotive engineering degree course in Riyadh.

Between April 2009 and 2010 a total of fifty students worked together with KSU docents on the project which was supported by external partnerships with Magna Steyr Italy for engineering along side Studiotorino for styling as mentors.
