Honda Civic (Japan, 1979-1983)

Honda entered the second generation Civic model in the market in 1980, replacing the previous model. The new Civic received more powerful engines and available in base and DX trim levels. A sports variant called Civic S was introduced in 1983.

For the 2nd generation, the Civic cars were assembled in more then just one powerplant, both at Honda’s homeland Japan and at Mercedes-Benz’s facility in East London, South Africa. Production stopped at the end of a three-year lifespan, opening the doors for the 3rd generation to replace it.
