Driven by Strakka Racing and JRM, the HPD ARX 03a is a successor of the ARX-01e. It received an entirely new Wirth Research designed chassis, with the bodywork being slightly modified from the outgoing model to include mandatory openings at the top of the wheel wells and the 1020 mm center shark fin.

The HPD ARX 03a is powered by a 3.4-litre normally aspirated HPD V8 engine, designed and built by Honda Performance development at its headquarters in Santa Clarita, California.

Strakka Racing is racing car #21 with an all-British driver line-up including Nick Leventis, Jonny Kane and Danny Watts. David Brabham, Karun Chandhok and Peter Dumbreck are racing for JRM in car #22.
