McLaren added another track-only variant of the 12C, the 12C GT Sprint, meant for trackday drivers. It is meant to bridge the gap between the standard 12C and track-only 12C Can-Am Edition. The car was designed and engineered by McLaren GT, McLaren’s customer racing division. It was introduced at the 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The basic car is identical to the standard 12C with a 40mm lowered suspension, Pirelli racing tires, optimized aerodynamics and better cooling.

The 3.8-liter twin-turbo engine was tuned to 617hp with a seven-speed twin clutch transmission. The radiator from the 12C GT3 is included. The ProActive Chassis Control was retuned for the lower ride height and extra grip from the racing tires. It has three modes that control damping, roll stiffness and stability control.

The front bumper, hood, radiator exits and front fender louvers all come from the GT3 version. The brakes discs are carbon ceramic. It is also fitted with an on-board air jack and center-locking 19in wheels.

The interior is fitted with an FIA-compliant roll cage, fire extinguisher, HANS device and racing seat with six-point harness. It also has air conditioning.
