The SLS AMG E-CELL is the electric version of the SLS AMG gullwing model. This battery-electric drive super sports car has a power output of 525 hp, torque of 880 Nm and that is able to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 4 seconds.

Thanks to the four synchronous electric motors fitted in the super sports car, the SLS AMG E-CELL provides a combined power of 392 kW and a maximum torque of 880 Nm, with each engine achieving a maximum rpm of 12.000/rpm. Located close to the wheels the power is transmitted by one transmission per axle.

The power delivered by the four engines handle the SLS AMG E-CELL the ability to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 4 seconds, almost the same as the SLS AMG with 6.3-litre V8 engine which goes up to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds.

A liquid-cooled high-voltage lithium-ion battery featuring a modular design with an energy content of 48 kWh and a capacity of 40 Ah is responsible for providing the necessary energy to the SLS AMG E-CELL.

As part of the Mercedes-Benz company strategy entitled "AMG Performance 2015" the gullwing with electric drive is intended to contribute to the continuous reduction of fuel consumption and emissions. At the North American International Auto Show 2011, Mercedes-Benz announced the series production of the SLS AMG E-CELL. The cars should arrive to the showrooms in 2013.

The modern coupe keeps the long front and the Gullwing doors, but it’s planned to have in the future a roadster version with conventional doors. AMG was responsible for the design. SLS-Class cars have powerful engines, typically V8 with 6.2l.   more
