Midget was founded in 1946 by two civil air patrol pilots from World War II Dale Orcutt and Claud Dry. The company's initial name was Midget Motors Supply and had its headquarters in Ohio, USA. In 1948 the name was changed to Midget Motors Manufacturing Co. and 1956 it was once again changed to Midget Motor Corporation. The company produced the King Midget, a small car that used many aircraft techniques to help reduce the weight of the car. In 1969 Midget was forced to file for bankruptcy due to a significant drop in sales.
