about this car

In January 1999, the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI was released. The Evo VI received a retouched bodywork, while the mechanical improvements were mostly made on the cooling system and engine durability.
Until now there were only the GRS and RS versions of the Lancer Evo, but the sixth series bring a new variant, the Evo RS2. A tuned limited edition known as RS Sprint was also briefly added, being a more powerful and even lighter car.

The Lancer Evolution VI was the last rally car to be especially built by Mitsubishi with the sole purpose of receiving the homologation needed to enter the World Rally Championship. Therefore, all subsequent Evo series won’t receive as many technologic developments as the previous series did.
Mitsubishi produced 2500 copies of the Lancer Evo VI, including all variants, until the car’s production run ceased in March 2001.
