The 2014 Nissan GT-R Nismo unveiled in 2013 gets an upgrade over the standard car with 591hp (600ps) and 481lb-ft (652Nm). It also gets a new aero package that adds 100kg downforce over the standard car at 186mph (300km/h).
Nissan is putting up proof of the new car’s prowess as well. It has released the full Nürburgring Nordschleife lap of factory driver Michael Krumm doing a 7:08.679 lap time.
The engine is the same 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 found in the standard GT-R, but it has been upgraded from the 543hp (550ps) and 466lb-ft (632Nm), an increase of 48hp (50ps) and 15lb-ft (20Nm). The engine uses the larger diameter turbos used in the GT-R GT3, an upgraded fuel pump and individually variable ignition timing for each cylinder.
The suspension uses Bilstein DampTronic dampers in the front with Comfort, Normal and R settings and a multi-link setup in the rear with a hollow rear anti-roll bar. It uses bespoke, 20in Dunlop tires that are 255mm wide in the front and 285mm wide in the rear. It rides on black six-spoke wheels inspired by the GT500 racing version in Japan.
The body of the Nismo uses more adhesive bonding and spot welding than the standard car to increase rigidity. It also gets a completely new body kit with a new, wider front bumper and engine undercover strake in the front and carbon fiber rear spoiler.
Inside, the Nismo gets carbon fiber-backed reclining Recaro seats, and Alcantara-covered steering wheel, a carbon fiber finish on the instrument panel with Alcantara covering.
