ŠKODA produced the first ever Octavia Combi in 1961.
In addition to its spaciousness a split tailgate as well as redesigned front axles with a coil spring were among the most innovative features. Equipped with 1089 or 1221 ccm engines the maximum speed was 115 or 120 km/h.
With well over 54,000 produced units the Octavia Combi was available until 1971, eight years longer than the sedan version.
