In early 2011 Pagani revealed a new model, the Huayra. The name derives from an ancient god of winds and correspondingly, the Huayra is expected to cut the air at speeds above 370 km/h.

The super car is powered by a Mercedes-Benz AMG 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12 engine. The engine has a power output of 700 HP and produces torque of 1000 Nm. According to Pagani, the supercar is the most fuel-efficient amongst 12 cylinder sports cars with values that can compete with those of much smaller vehicles in the market. The Mercedes-AMG engine is matted with a transverse sequential seven speed gearbox and a dual plate clutch.

In terms of design the Huayra is a big supercar with 4605mm length, 2036mm width and 1169mm heigth. Thanks to the use of a carbon-titanium monocoque, the vehicle weights 1,350 kg, and 56% of that mass is over the rear wheels.

The replacement of the Zonda V12 made its first world appearance at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2011.
