Brotherhood Crocker Motors Limited was  founded  by Peter Brotherhood, in London and produced the Brotherhood automobiles. In 1905, Brotherhood sold the plant and build a built a new factory in Tinsley, in Sheffield, Yorkshire. The new company adopted the name of Sheffield Simplex Motor Works Ltd and started producing luxury touring cars which were an evolution of the Brotherhood and rivaled with Rolls-Royce. The first Sheffield Simplex was launched in 1908. After an interruption during WWI, production was resumed in 1919 but the marked for luxury cars had dropped. Manufacture ceased in the early 1920’s.
