Yue Loong Machinery Co., Ltd. was founded by Ching-Ling Yen in Sin-Tien, Taiwan, on September 10, 1953. It was originally meant to produce machinery, but soon the company extended its activities to the automobile industry. In 1957 the company made an agreement with Nissan to build Nissan cars under license and changed the name to Yue Loong Motor Co., Ltd.
In 1992 the company was reorganised under the name Yulon Motor Co., Ltd. In 2004 Yulon split itself into two companies: the YULON-NISSAN Motor Co., to produce Nissan vehicles, and YULON Motor Co., Ltd. to produce cars other than Nissans, including its own brand.
